Pals

James, Sangeetha, and David

An old photo from my summer trip to Cambodia, but I'll be chillin' with deez peeps back in Canada soon.

I just love this photo. This is Sangeetha and I in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Canada Day. James and Sangeetha asked me what we should do to celebrate. I suggested getting hammered under the Canadian flag by the riverfront. They both broke out in laughter. I was serious:(

Yes, I am trying to look like a nerd in this photo. That's not my hat.

I was lucky to survive an accident I had with a dump truck. Not only was I lucky to survive, but my bike wasn't damaged and I rode it home. Luckily, at that time I lived across the street from Sunway Medical Center and I managed to limp there like a zombie. I was freaking out when I got to the hospital, but they stuck a needle in me and everything felt so good.

Actually, it took about two weeks for my foot to scab up and I was slightly worried that gangrene might set in.

Don't worry about me people. The problem was that I was still stuck with this Canadian safe driving mentality. Now I drive like a Malaysian and everything makes sense.

Chill Sir!!!

I'm not exactly sure what is happening in this sequence, but I like it. It seems that three in one photos are the new trend. Maybe it's time for me to replace my Nokia 6600.

Thanks to Philana for the pics:)

Deadly Serious in I.B.

Great photo that captures the chaos of I.B. P4. Thanks to Alina for sending me the pics.

Not sure why this picture was taken, but I suspect Hann was plotting something.

Here I look like a good teacher. I'm probably telling the student about something I did on the weekend, but at least it appears that learning occurs in the I.B. classroom.

I don't like this photo because my back looks really weird. It doesn't look like that in real life.

You Can Find Me in the Club, Bottle Full of Bub

Vi-Lynn and Mr. Saint

These are all students from period four during my first semester at Taylor's. It's been almost a year since they graduated.

Left to right: Szu Jane, Bobby, Dillion, Me, Vi-Lynn, Ann Jill

I went out to the Curve on Saturday night. I had a strange sense that I was going to run into at least one student. Sure enough within 5 minutes of arriving I hear, "Mr. Saint". It was Bobby and Szu Jane. They were there to celebrate Vi-Lynn's birthday.

No, I wasn't there with my new girlfriend. I was there with the same girl that made me angry not so long ago.

Hari Raya

I don't like to make posts unless I have a photo to go with it. Thanks to Melody for sending me this shot. I was so focused on reading her work, I didn't even notice her take a picture. Just joking, this photo was set up. I'm not exactly sure why I decided to look angry while reading something for this pic.

This is the big Hari Raya weekend. I bought a bus ticket to go to Hat Yai, Thailand, but I decided that I'd rather stay here and golf every day. I went golfing on Friday, but my golfing buddies all have other plans for the rest of the weekend.

My computer got a virus while I was trying to hack into the Pentagon's network. Basically, my computer was the only form of entertainment at my house, so these days I'm reading back issues of the Economist for fun.

Ahhhhh! I'm going somewhere for Deepavali no matter what.

Arrivederci

Awesome Trip

Cambodia is my favovorite country in the world. I just got back from my fourth visit and this time was probably the best. My buddy Aziz has all the pictures and I'll post some soon.

I expressed some anger in my last post, but I want to assure you that I didn't fire the bazooka. I chose a shotgun instead. Aziz displayed diverse skills with two handguns, an AK-47, and an M-16. He was like a kid in a candy shop.

Nothing Matters Before "I Love You"

Pol Pot

Angkor Wat

I won't get into the details of how a seven month relationship got torn apart less than 24 hours after the words "I love you" were exchanged for the first time (her fault), but I will tell you that I'm in need of a holiday.

Luckily, I'm off to Cambodia tomorrow. The first thing I'm going to do when I get there is go to the firing range, get a bazooka, and blow something up. After that, I should feel a bit better.

My homeboy Aziz a.k.a. "No Limit" will be meeting me there. I should be fully recovered by the time I return.

Legal Action

This photo is titled, "Irish Yoga".

A great friend of mine had a lawyer in China write a letter to her former employer threatening legal action for giving her a bad reference. I actually laughed out loud when I read it. If you know who this is about then you'll have a good laugh too. Way to go baby!

This is an English translation of part of the letter, so please excuse the Chinglish.

Your School employed ****** as teacher of your school, and you two party terminated the employment relation recently. ******* applied for jobs to other international schools in Shanghai after the termination of your employment relation. Other international schools inquire your school about performance of ****** in your school. The relationship between your school and ******* was limited to employment. However, your school provided much information concerning ******* that had no relation with her performance in your school, among which some were inaccurate, exacerbate, or not true, e.g. your school declared that she was totally alcoholic dependent, and your school had send her back to Canada for treatment of alcoholic dependent, which incurred other international schools not to employ *******.

TGIFriday Birthday Bash

When you have a birthday at TGIF, they sing songs and make you stand on a chair and make a speech. Here I am enjoying Balqis' speech. Little did I know Celine was secretly taking a photo of me. I'm sure this one is all over Friendster by now.

I had a great time. Thanks for inviting me!

Thanks to David @ ELT World

If you're looking to teach abroad, start here:

http://elt-world.blogspot.com/

More specifically, if you're thinking about coming to Malaysia, go to:

http://eltworld.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=40

David's English Teaching World has just opened a Malaysia forum. That makes it the FIRST forum for foreign teachers working in Malaysia.

To honour this, I will be taking Dave's ESL Cafe off my links and replacing it with the Malaysia forum.

We have a great environment for international business.

Submitting a project just seconds before the absolute due date.

I had last Friday off because it was the 50th anniversary of Malaysia's independence. On Thursday there was a flag raising ceremony at my school. Over the long weekend I went golfing at KBB twice. I suck at golf, but I usually keep my cool. I lost it at KKB. I had a terrible round Friday and Saturday was worse. However, I still bought a golf membership last week. It only cost about $120 CDN and covers so many courses.

Hollywood Bollywood (ICPU Prom 2007)

The ICPU prom had a Hollywood Bollywood theme this year. It was held at the Palace of the Golden Horses. This hotel is billed as Asia's most extraordinary hotel. It's ok lah.

I had a great time at my first prom.

All Systems Go (Camera is Working)

Chiang Mai, Thailand (June 2007)

I want to get one of these for my classroom.

Sangeetha being a nerd.

Why are hemorrhoids called "hemorrhoids" instead of "assteroids"?

This could be the worst photo of me in existence.

Only slighlty more stairs than lead to my apartment or classroom.
